Karaoke In The Capital

 Karaoke in the Capital is the one night when Democrats, Republicans, the media and those who just don't care can put their differences aside and sing badly for a good cause. Hosted by the American Association of Political Consultants Mid-Atlantic Chapter, Karaoke In The Capital gives part of the proceeds to Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation which will provide musical instruments to a deserving Washington, DC school and students.

Bob Schieffer of CBS's "Face the Nation" returns as Emcee and his band "Honky Tonk Confidential" opens the evening

 Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) Welcome New Board Members

This week, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the AAPC elected Board Member Dean Phillips as President of the organization. “We have an outstanding group of board members this year.  With the upcoming events it promises to be an exciting 2011.The chapter has a number of very compelling events for 2011 including networking, educational and our annual Karaoke event traditionally hosted by Bob Schieffer of CBS news and featuring many of the D.C. political media professionals in what is certainly not their day job” said Phillips. 

 

As President, Phillips will be responsible for leading the organization to bringPolitical Professionals of the many disciplines together for social and career development opportunities.  The chapter can be reached at www.midatlanticaapc.com.

 

New Board Members include Kristen Hainen, Jason Killion Meath, Jennifer Bethel, Jordan Lieberman, Neil Reiff and Whitney Hurt.  Returning board members include Dean Phillips, Steve Rice, Scott Reiter, Courtney Sakai, Michael Bronstein and John Jameson.  Jessica Keegan and Bud Jackson serve as President Emeritus.

 

Kristen Hainen has worked as a communications strategist and has held a variety of senior level positions on political campaigns around the country.  Hainen is the Communications Director at LMG, LLC, a public affairs firm that unites law, communications, strategic counseling, and crisis management into campaigns for Fortune 100 companies, trade associations, start-ups, and non-profits.  Additionally, serves as the CEO of CandidAide.

 

Jason Killion Meath is the President of Xenophon Strategies, Advertising & Advocacy.  Previously, he was a partner with The Stevens & Schriefer Group.

 

Jennifer Bethel founded JMB Design center, specializing in all mediums of design from brochures and press kits to advertisements and websites. She was recently named a Rising Star by Campaigns & Elections magazine.

 

Jordan Lieberman is Managing Director at CampaignGrid, LLC.  Previously, he served as Publisher of Campaigns & Elections magazine.

 

Neil Reiff is a founding member of the firm of Sandler, Reiff & Young, P.C., in Washington, D.C., with over fifteen years of experience concentrating advising national and state party committees, candidates and other political organizations in campaign finance and election law matters.

 

Whitney Hurt serves as National Account Manager for The Political Insider, LLC. Prior to working for Political Insider, Hurt served as Membership Director for the American Association of Political Consultants.

Scott Reiter is the Managing Director of RPAC and Political Programs for the National Association of Realtors. RPAC is the nation’s largest trade association PAC.

 

Courtney Sakai is the Senior Campaign Director for Oceana, the largest international organization focused solely on ocean conservation.

 

Michael Bronstein is the founder and president of Bronstein & Weaver, Inc., a Democratic political strategy and direct mail firm located in the greater Philadelphia area.

 

John Jameson is the founder of Winning Connections, America’s premier telephone voter contact firm for progressive groups, causes, and candidates.

 

Jessica Keegan, President Emeritus.  Jessica is a seasoned media consultant specializing in public affairs, marketing and strategic counsel for political candidates, non-profit organizations and third-party issue advocates.

 

Bud Jackson, Past chapter President and President Emeritus, is the founder of Jackson Group Media, a nationally recognized Democratic media consultant.
